REVELATION OF MARCH 19, 1847
FEAST OF ST, JOSEPH, PATRON OF THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH
On this day our Saviour discloses His FULL plans for the Work of Reparation. He calls on Sister Mary of St. Peter to make it known that He desires this Devotion to be approved by a Brief from Rome itself, so that it will never perish, and declares that He created her for this Work.
AFTER Holy Communion this morning I told our Lord that I have been counseled by the Prioress not to write to the Archbishop on account of the many occupations which already claim his attention. Here is what our Lord had the goodness to answer me in regard to this matter:
"My daughter, I have a great love for obedience. Submit to them, therefore, so that seeing you always so obedient to your superiors in everything that I communicate to you, they will be able to recognize the spirit by which you are led. Nevertheless, it is My Will that these revelations which I have given you be made known to your highest superior."
Then I said, "My Divine Master, permit me to ask You with all the simplicity of a child to explain what You mean when You command me to ask the Archbishop for the erection of the Work of Reparation for You know that he has already somewhat aided this Work by giving it his approval to a certain extent." To this our Lord replied:
"If this Work of Reparation is not established on a solid foundation it will never be secure. By this I mean that if it does not have its own Brief it will only languish and wind up by perishing. This Work therefore cannot be truly established without the formality of a Brief. But on the other hand, if the Work is launched by first asking for a Brief, it will soon spread and be extended through all the cities of the nation. Now it is only proper that he who has first put his hand to the Work should bring it to a successful finish."
I then asked, "Is it really true, my Divine Master, that You told me the other day to ask His Excellency for this Work in Your Name and on Your part, for I am always afraid of being mistaken?"
Our Lord answered me saying that I can be absolutely certain of this, as He urged me to notice that this Work occupied my mind only when He Himself inspired it which is certainly the case. He then declared that He would explain to me by means of a comparison to what extent He had taken hold of my soul.
Showing me a bow and arrow which He said was the symbol of my soul in His hands, He told me to notice the special angle at which He held the bow, aiming the arrow at some particular target, as He chose for the successful accomplishment of His plans. Then He added:
"It is to use you as the instrument in My plans for this Work of Reparation that I have created you. But be consoled, for I shall not leave you long upon the earth after this Work is established, and My Mercy will then compensate you for all your little labors."
